The PAREMPI project was presented during an air quality focused session at the RTR Conference 2026 – Results from Road Transport Research (10 to 12 February 2026 at The EGG, Brussels).
The presentation was delivered by PAREMPI partner Piotr Bielaczyc (BOSMAL – the Automotive Research and Development Institute), a research organisation specialising in vehicle testing, powertrain development, emissions measurement, and transport-related technologies. Prepared in collaboration with the project coordinator Päivi Aakko-Saksa, the talk highlighted key technical and emissions-related results, as well as PAREMPI’s expected long-term impact.
PAREMPI was featured on 11 February 2026 in a parallel session titled “Air Quality and the Impact of Emissions on Human Health.” The session offered an excellent setting to discuss how road transport emissions affect air quality and human exposure, and it concluded with a lively exchange with the audience.
In this session, PAREMPI was presented alongside two complementary EU-funded projects. ULTRHAS focuses on the measurement and health relevance of ultrafine particles under real-world conditions, while AEROSOLS addresses aerosol emissions and their transformation in the atmosphere, contributing to improved assessment of air pollution impacts. The PAREMPI Project Officer Alexandru Ghiurca, CINEA presented the air quality research state-of-the-art in Europe and future calls.
The sessions recording is available for watching here.
The overall RTR Conference 2026 gathered around 700 participants and featured results from approximately 96 EU-funded projects, in addition to several plenary sessions. PAREMPI’s contribution was well received, and the discussion following the presentations included many questions from the floor, moderated by Professor Zissis Samaras, Professor of Engineering Thermodynamics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
