PAREMPI mentioned in lecture on transport’s impact on health

On Monday, 27 January 2025, the PAREMPI project was featured in an insightful lecture by Piotr Bielaczyc from BOSMAL at the National Research Institute of Oncology in Gliwice, Poland. Addressing professors and doctors, the lecture focused on the “Health Aspects of Modern Technologies in Transport.”

The session examined the environmental and health impacts of transport emissions, going beyond traditional concerns like internal combustion engine (ICE) emissions and greenhouse gases (GHG) to discuss:

  • Emissions from brakes, tires, and road surfaces
  • Challenges related to electric vehicles (EVs), batteries, and rare earth metals
  • Electromagnetic fields and their potential effects
  • The global impact of energy production, including coal power generation in China

As part of the discussion, PAREMPI was highlighted as a key project addressing transport-related air quality challenges and advancing research in sustainable mobility.

The National Research Institute of Oncology is one of the largest and most renowned in Poland and beyond, with a team of outstanding specialists, professors, and doctors utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment to save thousands of lives. Piotr Bielaczyc emphasized his deep respect for their work, noting that unfortunately, oncological diseases are a growing risk for everyone—yet not everyone is aware of this pressing issue.
