We proudly announce that the PAREMPI has been prominently featured in the latest edition of Air Quality News Magazine (Issue 27, pages 18–20). In an article written by Päivi Aakko-Saksa in collaboration with our consortium partners, our work takes center stage in a comprehensive piece spanning three pages.
The article highlights the project’s innovative approach to understanding and mitigating the transport sector’s contributions to secondary aerosol formation and particulate matter (PM₂.₅) levels. The article, “PAREMPI dives deep into transport emissions”, explores how the project addresses significant knowledge gaps in how transport emissions contribute to secondary aerosol formation. By building a robust emissions database and leveraging advanced modelling tools, the PAREMPI team aims to provide actionable insights for policymakers to reduce the societal and environmental impacts of PM emissions.
Highlighting the extensive collaboration within the PAREMPI consortium—comprising leading research organizations from across Europe—the piece showcases the breadth and depth of our measurement campaigns, which analyze emissions from cars, heavy-duty vehicles, marine transport, and aviation. It also delves into the project’s efforts to assess secondary aerosol formation in real-world conditions, including its innovative use of oxidation flow reactors to simulate atmospheric aging. This feature not only amplifies the importance of the PAREMPI project’s mission but also underscores the collaborative spirit that drives our research forward.
We invite you to read the full article in Air Quality News Magazine and join us in our commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier future.
