On February 19, 2025, the 1st International Living Lab (ILL) Workshop of the MI-TRAP Project took place at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Berlin, Germany. The event brought together researchers, policymakers, and industry experts to co-create innovative solutions for mitigating transport-related air pollution in European cities. The Workshop was part of the Annual MI-TRAP General Assembly bringing together representatives from 26 partner organisations.
Our partner Hilkka Timonen from the Finnish Meteorological Institute was invited to join the project’s 1st International Living Lab Workshop to represent the PAREMPI project. The workshop enabled participants to exchange best practices, identify barriers, and co-develop actionable solutions for cleaner cities. In addition to PAREMPI, the workshop welcomed external stakeholders from other sister projects including Net4Cities and the European Citizen Science Association. The session concluded with a plenary discussion that synthesized key takeaways and established priorities for upcoming initiatives.
A key highlight was the plenary session, where participants collaboratively shaped a shared vision for urban air quality improvement. This initiative aligns with PAREMPI’s commitment to tackling transport emissions and advancing sustainable mobility solutions.
The MI-TRAP International Living Lab marks an important step toward a collaborative, evidence-based approach to urban air quality management. PAREMPI looks forward to further contributing to this vital conversation.
