PAREMPI presented at the Black Carbon Footprint Seminar 2025

The Black Carbon Footprint Seminar 2025, held at the University of Eastern Finland in Kuopio on 23 October 2025, brought together leading experts to discuss the latest research on black carbon emissions, aerosols, air quality, and their impacts on health and climate. Organised collaboratively by the GIANT, PAREMPI, TUBE, ROSES, and NEX-EL projects, the one-day event featured presentations spanning emission sources, climate effects, and mitigation technologies.

During Session 1, our project coordinator Päivi Aakko-Saksa, VTT and Michal Vojtisek, IEM, presented findings related to secondary aerosol potential of transportation exhaust emissions, highlighting key insights from the PAREMPI project. The presentation underscored how the project contributes to understanding and reducing particle emissions from transport and energy systems, supporting cleaner air and improved climate outcomes.

The seminar also showcased results from several related European research initiatives, including MI-TRAP and ROSES, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to tackling air pollution and its health effects. With engaging discussions on topics such as wildfire impacts, air quality modeling, and health-related aerosol effects, the event served as a vital platform for advancing scientific collaboration toward sustainable energy and environmental strategies.
