Highlights from the 14th International Conference on Air Quality in Helsinki

We are delighted to share our valuable experience from the 14th International Conference on Air Quality that took place in Helsinki, Finland.

PAREMPI Session: Transport Emissions and Policies

One of the highlights of the conference was the PAREMPI session on Transport Emissions and Policies, expertly organized by our partners Finnish Meteorological Institute and VTT. The session featured insightful presentations from the AEROSOLS, GREEN RAY and EASVOLEE projects, marking a significant milestone in our collective journey towards sustainable transport.

In a packed room at the University of Helsinki, six PAREMPI papers were presented by our esteemed colleagues, sparking engaging and meaningful discussions. We are immensely grateful to our PAREMPI partners who contributed to the success of this session: Hilkka Timonen, Päivi Aakko-Saksa, Pontus Rodin, Luis Barreira, Leïla Simon, Wojciech Honkisz, and Ismael Kenneth Ortega Colomer.

PAREMPI Posters: A closer look at our research

In addition to the session, two PAREMPI posters were prominently displayed in the conference’s poster area. Milja Jäppi from Tampere University presented her research on particle emissions from gasoline hybrid and diesel hybrid cars, “Comparison of particle number emissions from gasoline hybrid and diesel hybrid cars”. At the same time, Hilkka Timonen from the Finnish Meteorological Institute showcased her work on secondary aerosol formation from marine transport, “Secondary aerosol formation from shipping: influence of technology, fuel and after treatment systems”.

These posters provided an excellent opportunity for attendees to engage directly with the researchers and gain deeper insights into the pivotal work being done under the PAREMPI initiative.
